A Decade of Educational Philanthropy
A Book of Case Studies Documenting a Decade of Educational Philanthropy by the Trump Foundation
A Book of Case Studies Documenting a Decade of Educational Philanthropy by the Trump Foundation
In the landscape of philanthropy, the Trump Foundation is perceived as unique. We practice an approach called “Catalytic Philanthropy” which focuses on solving a national problem. This approach creates a highly transparent outcome-driven strategy, convenes an ecosystem of stakeholders and weaves networks of knowledge sharing and collaboration, and makes our case very interesting for colleagues, experts in the field and commentators. The success of the five-unit mathematics endeavor captured the attention of many colleagues and commentators in Israel and elsewhere, seeking to study our methods, to learn about our current steps and to try and adapt it to their contexts.
Now, ten years since we started, while we forge ahead with the TOP15 roadmap in middle schools, we can look back on some of the milestones and offer insights and recommendations. Therefore, we are proposing to create a set of 10 case studies about selected dimensions of the foundation’s work. They include strategy in practice; collective impact coalitions; from 5P2 to TOP15; relationships with grantees; convening professional networks; partnering with municipalities; influencing public policy; and, engaging the public.
Each case will be studied and written by an external expert and will be approximately 25-30 pages in length. The final papers will be available in both Hebrew and English, separately and in the framework of an English book. The cases will then be presented to and discussed by relevant target audiences.
