Bat Yam Municipality

Bat Yam is a city in Tel Aviv district. It was founded in 1926 and declared a city in 1958. The education system in Bat Yam encompasses about 20,000 students studying in 40 education institutions and 117 kindergartens—as well as 7,000 university students studying in the Bat Yam College and the Open University. Educational institutions are spread out throughout the city encompassing all education sectors and tracks: secular-public schools, religious public schools, private schools, Ultra-Orthodox schools, and special education.

The constantly growing number of students eligible for a matriculation diploma (far above the national average); the negligible drop-out rate among students; and the fact that three of the city’s high schools are ranked in Israel’s top ten testify, better than anything else, to the quality of education in the city.
