Tutoring of Mathematics by Retired Teachers who will Come to Eilat to Teach High School Students from Sderot
The city of Sderot in southern Israel is home to 35,000 residents. Hamas terrorists infiltrated the city on October 7th, causing numerous casualties and leading to a complete evacuation of the city. Before the war, the city operated two high schools, both run by the Amit School Network, a secular school with 1,300 students, and a religious school with 400 students.
In the city of Eilat, that hosts many of the evacuees, there are currently 500 high school students from both Sderot schools. Amit is trying to resume the schools’ operation, by using local schools in the afternoons. Part of the learning is conducted online with the original class, while the rest is dedicated to in-school learning. Amit seeks funding for tutoring of mathematics students by retired teachers who will come to Eilat, and for equipment and enrichment activities to supplement their work.
