Preparing 30 High School Physics Students of Evacuated Families for their Matriculation Exam
Physics Studies for 30 High School Students of Evacuated Families in Preparation for the Matriculation Exam
Physics Studies for 30 High School Students of Evacuated Families in Preparation for the Matriculation Exam
Following the war, approximately 50,000 students have been evacuated with their families from the north and south of Israel. Their school year is now on halt, with substantial efforts across the country to resume learning as much as possible. Success is very limited, and classes are half filled, particularly the excellence classes and the five unit tracks, which require highly qualified teachers. Some highly motivated students maintain their studies through online learning, however they have no laboratory equipment for science experiments.
In order to address this gap, the Atidim Association is proposing to hold a special program for children of evacuated families at the Technion. The program will invite 30 high school students of 10th-12th grades, who study advanced physics for their matriculation. The students will participate for a full week of immersive studies at the Technion, followed by weekly online learning, led by faculty members of the Technion. Each group of three students will receive coaching throughout the year, to ensure that they all complete their studies successfully.
