It’s Time for Education – Digital Magazine – 2026
Expanding the magazine's reach through educational partnerships and the integration of AI tools
Expanding the magazine's reach through educational partnerships and the integration of AI tools
The digital magazine “It’s Time for Education” was established by the foundation in 2014. Today, it is the most widely read education magazine in Israel. It reaches more than 100,000 readers, including approximately 67,000 followers on social media platforms, a weekly newsletter with 43,000 subscribers, and an active website with over 35,000 monthly visits.
The magazine is built primarily on content written by teachers and publishes three articles each week. These articles serve as a vehicle for sharing pedagogical experience, presenting day-to-day instructional challenges, and offering practical insights from the classroom. In addition, the magazine makes research, updated professional knowledge, and education policy accessible in a manner that connects systemic processes with on-the-ground educational practice.
In recent years, however, several indicators point to a decline in website usage. Since 2023, annual site traffic has decreased by more than 15% each year, with the trend intensifying. There has been a noticeable decline in organic searches (via Google), alongside diminishing effectiveness of paid digital promotion. This trend is linked, among other factors, to changes in paid algorithms and to the growing use of artificial intelligence tools.
In 2025, we set the following targets: to increase monthly website visits from 35,000 to 55,000, and newsletter subscriptions from 37,000 to 50,000. With respect to content, we sought to increase the share of articles offering concrete teaching practices, to make international educational knowledge more accessible to Israeli teachers, and to expand coverage of the high-tech matriculation track and artificial intelligence.
In practice, we did not meet these targets. Our conclusion is that to expand readership, we must shift the focus from paid digital promotion, whose returns are declining, to the development of strategic partnerships with education bodies that maintain large communities of educators. Through such partnerships, new content streams will be integrated into the magazine and distributed more broadly through partners’ mailing lists and communication channels.
For example, we intend to establish a dedicated section addressing the growing, practical use of artificial intelligence tools by teachers to improve classroom practice. To this end, we are in discussions with the Ministry of Education’s AI leadership, together with the Yad Hanadiv foundation, which is active in this field. The intention is for the Ministry to disseminate selected magazine content through its high-traffic social media platforms.
In parallel, our digital strategy will shift from SEO (optimizing content for Google search) to GEO (positioning the magazine as a source from which AI models draw information in response to educational queries). The objective is for content published in “It’s Time for Education” to be indexed and utilized by tools such as ChatGPT, Gemini, and other large language models when responding to questions related to education.
In addition, we will activate an AI agent that will scan and learn from the approximately 5,000 articles published on the site over the years. This agent will be integrated into the magazine’s website as a “pedagogical advisor” for teachers and will also be available as a WhatsApp bot. During this year, we will reduce expenditure on paid digital promotion and scale back the use of short-lived social media stories that generate limited traffic.
