Simulation Workshops for 225 Mathematics Teachers on How to Teach during the War
Over the last seven years, the foundation has been partnering with Bar Ilan University, to develop scenarios, scripts, and simulations for mathematics teachers. Hundreds of teachers participated in professional development workshops, using these simulations, to enhance their teaching practices. The workshops concentrated on the development of growth mindsets, techniques for implementing applied mathematics tasks in middle schools, and calibration of student motivation.
Now, Bar Ilan University seeks funding to develop four simulations that focus on how to teach mathematics during war and after trauma. They will include methods on how to motivate students, how to teach mathematics online, and how to persist as a teacher under immense pressure. Fifteen workshops using these simulations will be offered to 225 high school mathematics teachers of excellence classes across the country.
