Effective teaching entails a support system within the classroom and across the school to enable student-centered instruction. Monitoring student learning and working within a school-based professional community allows teachers to continuously improve their teaching. Collaboration between schools is also imperative for effective teaching, particularly in the areas of Mathematics and the Sciences, where teachers and students are scarce and lab equipment is expensive.
Over the next few years the Trump Foundation will lay the groundwork for creating such support systems. This will involve developing technologies, creating the necessary practical knowledge, and training professionals. It will then partner with a select group of municipalities and school networks, who display a deep concern, motivation and capability for demonstrating effective applications of support systems for high quality instruction at scale.
